Getting a late start…

New year.

This is usually one of my favorite times of the year. Fresh start. Reflecting. Resolving to make better, do better. Renewed energy for it all.

Normally I write out my resolutions days before the year officially rolls over. Detailing thoughts about the year passed and the year ahead.

This year, the countdown had nearly begun before I began jotting down a few notes. I got caught up in holidays and family and babies and the glorious staycation that occupied the past 2 weeks.

new tradition – annual hand and footprints

I never found the quiet moments I normally crave at the end of a year. Reflecting is barely done. Resolving is not quite there.

Fresh start feels…. well not quite as fresh as normal.

But I’m not giving up. It’s never too late to make a change and I’m not going to let the calendar hold me back from still plugging forward on this year’s resolutions.

Resolution #1: finish resolutions before February.

Happy New Year to you and yours. 2013. It’s gonna be a good one.
