He often asks her who she loves more. Mommy? or Daddy?
And what she loves more. Daddy or ice cream? Daddy or Angelina Ballerina? Daddy or purple?
She knows how to play the game. She knows how to get the ‘awes’ and the giggles. So she quickly proclaims her love for desserts and games and cartoons. And she never answers his questions with ‘Daddy.’
He fakes a pout. She giggles. He tries to give her a hug. She laughs and runs away.
But, make no mistake. This little girl loves her Daddy.
And I do too.
To all the Daddy’s out there, you are loved whether we tell you or not. And Happy Father’s Day.
