Weekly Gratitude #20 (link up!)

On Tuesday, M and I were talking about the serious amount of change we’re taking on in our lives this year. Everyone said 2012 would be a year of great change and yet… I did not expect this.

We are still in the midst of the first change: selling our house and buying a new one. In the Fall, Baby will begin Preschool, a change that doesn’t sound big and yet, after three years of our home-based nanny share arrangement, will certainly rock our worlds. Even small things, like Baby now going to dance class by herself, is a break from our norm and an adjustment for all. And oh, there are so many more changes to come before we greet 2013.

These changes, big and small, can be overwhelming. Especially when you, as we tend to do, think of them all at once. It’s enough to make a human thoroughly stressed out.

But then I read this post and I realized how blessed I am. We’re moving into a bigger house that we love. We got Baby into a preschool that we love. Yes, these things are scary and certainly rock the boat in ways that make us anxious and uncomfortable. But we are so blessed to be able to do these things.

And so, this week, I am thankful for…

… opportunities. To make decisions in the best interests of my family.

… friends who reach out – to say hello, to check in, to see if all is ok. Friends are good.

… moments of clarity. Those moments when it all starts to click in your brain – those are good too.

… chocolate milk. I don’t know why but it’s my thing this week.

… Library books. It’s been so long since I’ve been to the library but it feels so good to check a book out.

… Easter eggs. (and the candy that comes inside).

Now it’s you’re turn! Add your reflections and gratitude in this first installment of Weekly Gratitude. I can’t wait to read!

Happy weekend!
