Of all of the holidays that we celebrate, Valentine’s Day is the one I’ve got figured out.
We’ve got our Valentines traditions pretty well set.
We’ve been baking heart-shaped cookies for weeks now.
We made valentines to send to close friends and family. They involved lots of tiny heart-shaped stickers. And glitter. And most of them will get there right on time.
This morning, she unwrapped a new book. Our Valentines tradition. A gift to feed her love of books.
This has always been one of my favorites.
Because when you strip out the over-priced flowers, the pressure, the overwhelming expectations sometimes attributed to the day, you’re left with something simple.
Love.
A day to unabashedly let loved ones know you’re thinking about them. With hearts and sugar and glitter.
What could be better than that?
