This week, I lived in a state of denial.
Each day, my throat felt increasingly sore. Each day, I remained resolute in my determination to ignore it.
And it worked. I really believed that I was onto something. Denial – the new cold stopper.
And then I weakened. On Thursday afternoon, I uttered the words “I am sick” as an excuse for the fact that I sounded like a very weak frog.
And it was all downhill from there.
This is a very long-winded excuse for why I missed yesterday’s Thankfulness Friday and am, instead, posting this on Saturday.
Sore throat and froggy voices aside, it was a great week.
This week, I am thankful for…
… my husband who bravely took on bathtime, bedtime, an afternoon with two toddlers, and an assortment of other things, all on his own. He is a super dad.
… incredibly helpful advice shared over a cup of coffee.
… my little girl who makes me more proud than I can convey with words.
… my Mom who, when it all gets to be too much, will listen to me rant for an hour. And then offer to help.
… heart-shaped cookie cutters.
… throat soothing tea.
… that moment when the clouds part after days of rain to reveal brilliant blue skies.
Happy weekend, peeps.
