I could sit here right now and complain about how busy this week was, or how tired I feel, or how much is left to do. I could go on about how weary I am, in mind, body, and soul.
But instead, I will jump right into the thankfulness. Because the truth is that my life is so full. This week, this month, this year, they were all long, but so wonderfuly full. And I’d have it no other way.
This week, I am thankful for…
… trains that run on time.
… an evening with my best friend and conversation like I haven’t had in way too long.
… a nanny who cares about my daughter and looks out for her and us.
… once again, forgiveness.
… sleep.
… the approach of a new year and the opportunity to pause and reflect, renew and recharge.
I’m thinking of making this week off ahead a true week off. I’m considering making this week electronic-free. Which sounds blissful and scary all at the same time. But while I might not be thankful here next week, I’ll be thinking about it somewhere. And I’ll be back as the new year approaches.
In the meantime, have a wonderful holiday. Enjoy the friends, and the family. And don’t forget the magic.
