“Do we have a small vase?”
“You mean like a bud vase?”
“Yeah. The rose out there is beautiful and I need to cut it. I want to put it somewhere for Baby to see.”
“Umm… I don’t think we do. But I’ll find something.”
He walks back outside and I head for the kitchen in search of a bud vase substitute. Drinking glass? Too big. Shot glass? Too small.
Aha.
Empty garlic jar. Perfect.
I’m a big fan of organization, good design, and coordinated decor. I like things to look a certain way.
But sometimes, I give in and let go. And it’s then that I find that there is great joy in improvisation.
