It’s early on Friday morning. Not painfully early, mind you. And my inbox tells me that people I know have been up for hours already. But it’s early for me. And I didn’t make enough coffee. And if I don’t write now, chances are very likely that I’ll blow this whole plan to post every day in November on the 4th day. So here I am.
I think that Fridays will be the toughest this month. I should have so much to write about – a week full of fodder. But instead, my brain is sleepy. All I can think about is Friday night pizza night followed by sinking into the couch with M and watching a movie. Friday nights are about reconnecting and I’m ready to reconnect this week.
So I’m going to make this easy on myself. In honor of Thanksgiving later this month, and because I have so much to be thankful for that I rarely take the time to appreciate, Fridays will be thankful days. What better way to end the week than by looking back to take stock of all the ways in which I am blessed.
Here’s this week in a thankful nutshell.
This week I am thankful for…
… beautiful, perfect Fall days.
… chocolate covered smiles.
… nurses who appreciate that baby dolls who came along for support need a bandaid and sticker too.
… a daughter who appreciates the fun of wearing a dress with tights and boots.
… a husband with infinite supplies of support and love.
… lunch with a new friend.
… chances to reconnect with an old friend.
… the recognition that gave me the motivational boost I needed.
… the sometimes surprising, though always consistent, support of family and friends.
Happy Friday!
